What we love about San Diego BMX

We found this track because our local box track closed. We took he boys on a whim and they loved it. The location is in Kearny Mesa (which is in the middle of San Diego). Our boys have participated in the spring break camp, beginners league, and racing on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The staff is all super kind and coach Tyler is so great with all the kids.

We find ourselves up at the track weekly mingling with parents and the boys get to see the friends they already made along with making new ones every week. It is a great way to have your kids in sports without the commitment of squeezing practice and games in on someone else's schedule 3-4 times a week. This just works for us and we love it!

There are rental bikes and helmets on site if you are looking to let you kiddo try it out before you end up buying everything you need. We started our boys out by bringing the bikes they already owned. The boys all tried the first few times there with their mountain bikes. You can bring whatever bike you want. All you need is a helmet ( full face is not required but it is recommended), a bike, long sleeves and pants. After visiting the track a few times for the race nights we saw a rider there was selling bikes. We purchased our bikes there used at the track. They are not sold by the track its self, but by the people that have kids that race or race themselves. The BMX bikes are really the way to go, but I am glad that they let you ride the bike you have so that you can get used to the track on a bike you're used to already!
