Race Day at Quick N Dirty's
Dirty 30 XL 2025
Quick & Easy Race day
Lake Hodges
Driving up to the race was super easy and quick from San Diego! We were getting there as they were setting up. it was brisk baby! Under 50 degrees to start the day but after the sun came up it was beautiful! The boys got on their bikes early to warm up, they rode through the grounds while Kevin got acclimated. The Baghouse team had a wonderful barista set up. Fun fact she used to race for Baghouse, and she's so stinkin' sweet! the coffee was just what we all needed to warm us up and start our day! The racers all got their stuff together and headed out early. After the race started basecamp was pretty dead. There wasn't much to do, no kids race, not a lot of offerings in the means of entertainment or activities. So the kids had to make their own fun! I brought the necessities to make "GOOOO DAD" posters for them to showcase and bells to ring but this race was only 2 laps so they didn't get to do much cheering. The riders are mostly out and about riding the hills, not so much riding near the start line like some other races. My husband's coaching team was there which is always so great. They are so supportive and provide water, shelter, fun, snacks, high fives, fuel, and laughs! They gave us a good idea as to where the feed station should be for our rider! Which is seriously so helpful, if you know you know!
Awards at Dirty 30 XL
The Quick N Dirty team really know how to keep everyone in the loop during and following the races. They have a monitor showing everyone's standing. They have an announcer that is top notch! Then they have awards directly following the race. They are quick and fun. They usually give the riders a trophy/award and a little goodie like socks or phone cases. They are such a great team and its always a pleasure getting the be apart of their races! This year Kevin took home 1st in his category and so did his coach Brian of Big Wheel Coaching! It was a great day!
Eat at Dirty 30 XL
When we arrived there was nobody set up yet. so make sure you are covered for breakfast! Sometimes we get breakfast or bring something with us when races are this close to home. The boys rode around for a bit and noticed a snack shack at the lake Hodges store area. unfortunately it didn't open all day. But the race team did have food trucks show up after the riders already headed out or racing. There was an acai bowl company their options were all different kinds of acai bowls. We got one of those and they boys shared. It was plenty for 3 little boys to share. Then near the end of the race the taco truck showed up, same one as the Filthy 50 race and wow they have good food! They even have a vegetarian option for me which is so great! The food comes out quick and hot! Other than that there was no other option, unless you left the lake Hodges area and went into town. Which was only about 10-15 minutes.

Quick N Dirty always put on a good race!

Bathrooms
When we got there the only option was port-o-potties. They were clean but they didn't have sinks. about 1 hour later the park rangers came and unlocked the actual bathrooms. Which was amazing because they had stalls with doors and sinks and soap. That makes for much easier bathroom breaks for the family!
